General Information on Cookies

The trust of our users is important to us, and so at TORCLUM, SL we care about protecting your privacy. An important aspect of that is giving you all the information possible about how we use your personal data, including how we use local data storage and similar technology.

Local data storage means storing different types of data locally on your device through your web browser. Data stored locally can, for example, contain the user settings, information about how you browse our website, which web browser you use, which adverts have been shown, and similar behaviour on websites we collaborate with. Data stored locally can be used to personalise the content and functions of our services to make your visits more comfortable and ensure they make more sense.

One method of local data storage is cookies. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (PC, mobile phone or tablet) that allow us to recognise your web browser. Cookies mainly hold information about your web browser and about any activity that has taken place on it. They help us to ensure the security and optimal running of our website; once you leave our website they are removed (security cookies and session cookies) and they gather information about the products that interest our online visitors, and about how they browse our website, to make our online offers more attractive for users (tracking cookies)).

Additional information on cookies

We use local data storage for a series of purposes, such as: allowing us to provide our services; provide you with relevant, personalised content when you visit our websites; measure and analyse traffic on our website; improve our services; and direct specific advertising. Below, we give more details about these topics:

  • For our advertising

We use local data storage in relation to advertising activities. This lets us know if and how often the user has visited an advert or certain type of advert, and how long ago they saw it.

We also use local data storage to build target groups and segments for marketing purposes and to direct specific adverts.

  • To analyse and improve our services

We use various measurement tools that give us statistics and analysis about our services. These tools allow us to recognise the web browser over time and ascertain whether the user has visited the website previously and, if so, how often. These tools allow us to get an overview of how many unique users we have and how they use our services.

Furthermore, we use the information we have gathered and analysed to develop and improve our services, for example, ascertaining which services generate a lot of traffic or seeing if a service is functioning optimally.

  • To deliver and adapt services to your usage

Local data storage is necessary and required in order to allow you to use our services, such as information about your settings, which tell us how the services should be provided on your web browser.

We also use local data storage to adapt our services to your usage wherever possible.

Managing cookies

You can deactivate cookies or set up your browser to notify you when a cookie is sent to you.

Your browser settings normally shows a list of all the cookies that have been stored, to give you an overview and, if you wish, to remove unwanted cookies. You can normally indicate that you accept the storage of cookies from websites you visit or third parties affiliated with those websites. You can also choose to be notified each time a new cookie is stored. Here is some guidance about how to do this in different web browsers. Your web browser normally stores cookies in a specific folder on your hard drive, so that you can also examine the contents in more detail.

However, the cookies that are present on the website often change, and not all of the cookies are equally important. As a result, if TORCLUM, SL changes its use of tracking cookies, it will notify you with a message.

Furthermore, there are services available that have been especially developed to provide users with an updated list of cookies and other tracking mechanisms.

Bear in mind that if you deactivate them, you may not be able to enjoy all of the functionalities of our website.

Here we present a summary of how locally stored data can be managed in different web browsers. Bear in mind that this process can change, and that the descriptions given here might not be up to date.
